Summary
A loose Dramione retelling of the plot of When He Was Wicked (Bridgerton Book 6...but not regency era).
After the war, Draco Malfoy pays his debt in Azkaban while his closest friend, Theodore Nott, finds love and forgiveness in the heart of Hermione Granger. Draco returns to a very different world than he left behind, and he must come to terms with his place in his friends' lives as well as the world at large.
At first he isn't sure what Theo sees in the Muggleborn swot from their childhood, but eventually he comes to understand all too well. Conflicted and full of self-loathing he flees rather than see them marry.
Years later, tragedy brings him back to England—and back to her.
Widowed and untethered, Hermione is not looking for love. Draco is not foolish enough to offer it. Loving her once felt impossible; loving her now feels like betrayal.

Like my MHA fic, the MC gets kicked out of his house but this is a way longer fic and I mostly made it to out my frustrations and feelings about my life and to be delulu and pretend one day I'll have a better life.

“Oh, what the fuck?” both she and the strange boy breathe out at the same time.
Natalie groans, rubbing her eyes. “I’m too high for this,” she grumbles.
He points at her, almost accusingly. “I’m not,” he says.
“Gold star to the hallucination, then,” she deadpans, pinching the bridge of her nose. The shock of knocking over the pot sobered her enough that she feels less like she’s floating through time, but clearly she’s still tripping on something if she’s seeing him now.
That, or it’s not the fault of the drugs. But she’d rather not consider that possibility.
“I’m not the hallucination,” he says. “You are.”

There's a man, and from the way tiny droplets of water are clinging to his skin, he probably just got out of the water. Lando tries very hard not to stare, but the guy's body looks as if it were sculpted by the gods, his back muscles very much on display. How is Lando meant not to stare?
Hot Pool Guy reaches for a towel laid out on a lounger and rubs it over his hair. And Christ, the guy's arms are just as muscled as his back. He turns his head when Lando is still staring.
Fuck.
OR: Lando is suffering from relationship woes and a really bad case of writer’s block. Charles is recovering from an injury that might have thrown his entire career off balance. A chance meeting at a hotel pool in Saint-Tropez might just be the thing they need to break them out of the ruts they’re in.
