"That's not— you shouldn't—" Grace shakes his head. He knows Rocky doesn't mean to make him uncomfortable. Heck, Grace's biggest problem at the moment is that the knowledge of Rocky watching him doesn't make him uncomfortable. Not in the way it probably should. "It's not really sex. Since I'm by myself when I…" he trails off and hopes that's the end of it.
"Rocky is here when Grace have not-sex."
"No, I mean—" Grace sighs and tries not to pull out his hair. "It's only me. Touching myself. You don't touch me."
Rocky sinks back on his hind legs and goes quiet in a way that Grace recognizes as careful thought. Stony fingers click together and drum against the aluminum composite flooring. When Rocky speaks next Grace nearly falls off his stool.
"Grace let Rocky touch, question?"

This particular story came from an amazing genetics paper that I saw linked on Tumblr many many years ago, where a fangirl came up with a plausible explanation for the mechanisms of wizarding inheritance, and my brain immediately grabbed onto this and ran with it, only it stopped running a short way from the end and got stuck until Lim helped me work it out of the mire!

Grace is too late rescuing Rocky. When he finds the Blip-A again, Rocky is already gone, so Grace does the only thing he can think of, and he takes Taumeoba-82.5 to Erid himself. If he can't save Rocky, well, he might as well make sure his death wasn't in vain.
He's sick, starving, and has no Eridian native to introduce him, but he's going to save Rocky's planet no matter what. After that... he supposes all that's left is for him to die. He's nearly out of food and Yao's gun is still tucked away safely in the Hail Mary's storage.
Fortunately for him, Adrian doesn't plan on letting their mate's best friend die so easily. -

On a Tuesday, he calls her Natalie. She has the conscience to be offended, as she always has when it comes to him- but the look on his face when he remembers that what he has said is incorrect is unmistakable. That is not anger or spite in his expression. It is shock.
His eyes furrow for a second but he has been in this game too long, and is quick enough to cover his misstep. The tremor in his hand is almost unnoticeable by the time he’s making eyes at the next smarmy business type.
