"You are leading beautifully," Seren whispered to him, and he nearly tripped from the praise. Daryl was slightly confused because he'd never felt the urge to dance, always happy to avoid it, but dancing with Seren felt good. He was delighted and proud that she was his wife, and so in love with her that he could barely breathe.
"Could dance with you forever," Daryl admitted in a rough voice as he leaned in close, enjoying the way her silver eyes sparkled in joy, a small and luminous smile on her face
"You will," Seren replied, and a boyish grin crossed Daryls face, uncaring of who saw it as he spun her and then pulled her back close to himself.
When the song faded, Daryl pulled Seren close, pressing his forehead against hers as she placed her hands on his chest.
"You're my wife," he whispers, awed. it was unbelievable to him that she agreed to it, that she chose him, wanted him.
"And you are my husband," Seren replied, tugging on his collar to pull him in so she could capture his lips in a fierce kiss, uncaring of the fact that the governor was gunning for their heads for the moment.
"Some reunion, huh?" Daryl asked as he leaned against the wall with Seren, who had asked for a break, having gotten tired after a couple of dances.
"She's in a jam" Rick admitted as he cradled his daughter close after feeding her.
"We all are." Hershel said, "Andrea's persuasive, but this fella's armed to the teeth. Bent on destruction"
"So what do you want to do?" Daryl asked Rick, looking serious as they watched their group dance and celebrate.
"We match it." Rick said fiercely, "I'm going on a run."
"I'll head out tomorrow", Daryl nodded his head as he winced slightly at the look Seren shot him, but it was necessary.
"No, you stay here, keep an eye on everything. I'll take Michonne", Rick stated, looking away at the dry look Daryl shot him, knowing that Rick was keeping him with Seren to keep her happy. Seren just looked pleased with herself as she shamelessly cuddled closer to her husband. He sighed and pressed a kiss to the crown of her head.
"You sure that's a good idea?" Daryl asked in concern. He felt a sense of debt towards Michonne and would accept her into the group, but he hadn't gone on a run with her, didn't know what it was like to watch her back or how much she would watch theirs.
"I'll find out", Rick decided, and then he looked over at Carl. He's ready. You hold it down here."
"You got it." Daryl promised before glancing over at Merle, "Merle can take Sasha and Tyreese for a run, need food just in case"
"Good idea", Rick said, nodding in agreement as they relaxed and enjoyed the celebration, finding happiness in the little moments.
