It takes a lot to catch Tartaglia, 11th of the Fatui Harbingers, off guard. Between surviving three months with the monsters of the Abyss at age fourteen, fighting his way up from square one through the ranks of the Fatui to his current position, and maintaining his facade as “The Greatest Toy Salesman in Snezhnaya” in the eyes of his youngest and most mischievous brother; yes, it would take a lot to find him in a truly tight spot.
Waking up in a body that existed nearly 3,700 years ago in the land that had yet to become Liyue? That would be disorienting even for a god. And speaking of gods, the only person he can turn to happens to be one. Here's hoping that the younger Zhongli is as friendly as the one Childe has grown close to.

The Ferrylady glances down at the resume and wrinkles her brow. “Work experience: Eleventh Fatui Harbinger— 4 years. Strengths: fighting, leadership, and ‘dealing with dead bodies, if you know what I mean.’ Hobbies: ice fishing.” She puts down the paper. “That’s all?”
Childe nods excitedly, like a puppy wagging its tail. “Yeah! Am I hired?”
In which Childe gets a job at Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Hu Tao has some new tricks up her sleeve, and Zhongli releases a Xiao Lantern for the first time.

Summary
In the aftermath of the Osial incident, Childe leaves Liyue and Zhongli tries to move on with his life. But when Childe suddenly returns, Zhongli has to face his own feelings or risk losing Childe forever.
OR, everyone knows they're in love with each other--except themselves.
