Summary
Ray’s sobriety had brought about a number of changes for Ray and their life together as a couple. Some of these changes were easier for Ray to deal with than others. For example, the fact that Ray wasn't fitting into all the same clothes he used to was something that was starting to get to him. To Sand, this just made Ray all the more attractive, gave him more places to leave kisses behind. But to Ray, it meant that he was no longer the same Ray he had gotten used to seeing in the mirror all his life.
So, Sand decided to try and help with that.
