Matt wishes that the Avenger's assumptions about his seeming inability to read the written word did something as benign as making an ass of him and them. Being called illiterate shouldn't hurt, not when he knows he's not, and it's not like he can tell them the truth.
Not that the truth would make much difference. He's just going to have to grin and bear it.

"Do you have any plans for later in the night?" he looked at her. His silver eyes met her honey ones. Her mind conjured up old memories of their time together and she wondered if he was also thinking about their encounter, years ago.
"Why do you care?"
"It's Samhain, Granger. We'll be gathering on the castle ruins up north, at midnight."
"You should come," Nott added with a pensive face, with a mischievous glint in his eyes. He was looking at her now as if he knew something that she didn’t and it disturbed her a bit. "The gatherings are great to attune your magic, and the more people, the merrier!"

Izuku used his shirt to blow his nose and nodded. He got out of the chair when she beckoned him over and crawled into her lap.
I always thought you’d take after your daddy.” Inko pressed a kiss into his soft curls. “I never thought you’d be like me .”
“What?” Izuku squinted at her, disbelieving.
She pushed his hair back from his face. “Mommy doesn’t have a quirk either.”
“You do so have a quirk! Mommy has Pull.”
Inko closed her eyes and looked within herself. Part of her was afraid that she’d let her connection go dormant, but the Force responded to her as eagerly as it ever had; maybe even moreso.
“No, baby.” She whispered into Izuku’s ear. “That’s just what I tell people.”

Summary
Loving Steve Harrington is pretty much accepting you’ll be collateral damage in his quest for self discovery and finding the meaning to life or what the fuck ever.
This isn’t something Eddie Munson has experienced firsthand so much as he just… tends to be around when it happens to other people. Honest.
More dudes than he realized (meaning, more than just him) ended up all watery eyed and downtrodden because Steve was just… too hard to not love. Guys that’d deck Eddie in the hall for staring even a second too long - which actually made sense in retrospect - were getting lost in those doe eyes, the soft lips, the perfect skin.
Just so happens that Tommy Hagan is the one that shows up on Eddie's doorstep with that particular set of problems today. Even if that's not why he's there, even if he can't exactly articulate it, Tommy's there to process a heartache and Eddie is there to help the best he can.
Who can relate better to being disappointed in themselves for longing for Steve Harrington, after all?
