Summary
He was warm. Not unusual. He tended to burrow under blankets while he slept, making more of a nest out of them than anything. He rolled over and yawned, about to go back to sleep, but he frowned. It was bright. He could see the light through his eyelids, it was far too bright in his room, he never left the lights on when he slept.
He realized with a jolt of panic that he wasn’t lying in bed, either. He didn’t feel the soothing weight of his blankets atop him, nor the softness of his mattress below. Instead, he felt hard ground.
He shot to his feet with a hiss, instantly awake and on guard, quickly taking in his surroundings with a sinking heart.
He was on a large, smooth rock. Before it was what looked like mulch woodchips. But beyond that….
He was in a cage. A terrarium, more accurately, he imagined Logan saying with an adjustment to his glasses. That brought a smile to his face for a moment, before it slipped away.

Deceit has been working hard to keep Virgil safe and win the Light Sides over on Anxiety's behalf. But now things have come to a head, and they've been found out.
So it's time to find out just how merciful the Light Sides can be.
Author's note: I'm going to leave this where it is. I don't have any ideas atm to go further. Feel free to come up with your own ideas for these guys' futures. If you need to know how it ends, for me it was just uphill from here. They heal and they experience happiness and emotional freedom. I... just don't know how to get there, specifically.

“Well, well, well. Look what we have here…” He drawled, a sickly smile on his face, as he approached the hero, tilting his head as his foe made no move to, well, move.
“What? No witty quip? No smart mouthing? Cat got your tongue, or did the Snake finally rip it out?” Usually a comment like that would get a snarl from the hero, his little firecracker, but now… now the hero just shivered, something that sounded suspiciously like a sniffle coming from his nose.
“Oh come on, Lightning bug, you don’t expect the waterworks to work on me, now do you?” He asked, grin feral as he tilted Tempests’ chin up with one clawed fingernail, digging it into the underside of his windpipe.
What he saw froze the smile on his face, icy rage rushing through him.
