This was a pretty grounded take on Bella/Paul if he imprinted in new moon. His POV and traumas were very interesting to read. Loved his use of fighting as coping. Loved how despite the bravado, he has somewhat of a self deprication streak to match Bella. It just comes out in different ways. I love the depiction of Bella as well, especially once she grows from her suicidal era. She just has this presence to her that feels grounded and realistic. Like she becomes more confident and we see parts of her competently riding a motorcycle or utilizing all of her experience with the supernatural with veteran calmness. Yet there are still small moments of her being clumsy or being defensive because growth isn’t perfect it’s just growth. Would love to see more of their relationship truly flourishing because it feels earned here.
