Summary

Jackson Whittemore was the top athlete, the hottest guy in school, and the best... a good boyfriend, but not all is as it seems; at home he endures horrific abuse at the hands of his adoptive parents. He waits for the chance to be free, when his parents insurance pays out not knowing that his father is eventually going to go too far.
After a nasty beating lands him in the hospital, the town's Sheriff takes pity on Jackson and agrees to take him in to avoid Jackson having to switch schools. There is just one problem, Jackson has just spent most of the year torturing the Sheriff's son Stiles.
Little did they know that this was the last summer before wolves returned to Beacon Hills.

They'd been on their way to get her ex, who had somehow managed to land himself in jail on Christmas Eve. It hadn't been the plan but Lydia knew even with all his faults she couldn't just leave him there.
“I figured out of everyone you knew, I’d be the most likely to end up here first. But damn. I guess he beat me to it.” Turning back to Jackson he continued. “I'm a little offended that you did it before me. But God Lyds, you really know how to pick ‘em.”
Or the one in which soulmates are real. And Jackson steals Lydia's boyfriend. Again.
