He lit a cigarette while leaning up against the wall, Mel falling into a seated position next to him. “Right, I’m sure that it’s frustrating to see autistic patients suffer, what with-”
“Becca, yeah,” Mel nodded. “You were great with her.”
Langdon made a bit of a strange expression. “Sure, with Becca. But also with you.”
“Me?” Mel said quizzically. “I’m not autistic.”
Langdon nodded, a second late. “Right, yeah. Yes.”
Mel doesn't believe she's autistic. So why does Langdon keep treating her like she is?

Summary
“You look like you got everything you wanted,” Trinity had said to her once, panting. Her skin glowing orange in the warm light of Yolanda’s bedroom.
Yolanda had only smirked, taken Trinity’s hand in hers and licked her fingers clean.
She should have said it then. Should have told her the truth. No, Trinity. No. Yolanda tells her now. She thinks of being halved then doubled, of being two things at once and still wanting more than you should. She thinks of swallowing spoiled meat and pretending it doesn’t sour everything inside of you.

Summary
She dry heaved, just twice. The bathroom smelled like sweat and wet wipes, just like it did in the Minneapolis Gymnastic Academy’s Girls Locker Room. Breathe. Trinity focused on the sink. She touched the porcelain. She was in the bathroom at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. She was nowhere else, she was no longer a gymnast, and her best friend was no longer alive.
Her breathing steadied. Trinity was acutely aware of the sweat running down the nape of her neck. Her breath tasted hot and acidic, and she felt as if a layer of grime covered her entire body. She stood up and grasped the sink. She remembered, briefly, a grounding exercise her victim advocate taught her when she was 18. To name everything about herself, a way to detangle her thoughts.

Trinity Santos is recognized at work.

Summary
For most lesbians, hairstyles become a distinct way to express your authentic self, or that's what the general consensus is at least. And if it scares men off at the same time, even better. Trinity is a proud lesbian despite what her parents have to say on the matter. It's a sin, you'll go to hell, you're confused, the same phrases repeated over and over for hundreds of women. But as Huckleberry would, albeit probably stuttering, confirm, she fully embraces her gayness. That being said, for Trinity her hairstyle was much more toxic and corrupted than the simplicity that was identity.

Summary
The Fourth of July shift leaves everyone exhausted, but for Trinity Santos, the weight of old wounds is heavier than anything the emergency department threw at her that night.
When Abbot finds her alone on the hospital roof, he doesn't offer easy answers or empty reassurances. He simply refuses to let her carry the burden by herself. With a quiet conversation, an overdue phone call to Whittaker, and the kind of steadfast care that feels suspiciously like family, Trinity begins to realize that surviving doesn't have to be a solitary act.

Summary
Fifteen years after a mission killed the crew he loved most, former astronaut Robby agrees to train NASA's newest team for a trip to the moon.
The assignment is supposed to be professional, simple, and Robby promises himself he won't get attached to this crew like he did the others.
Instead, Robby finds himself drawn into the orbit of five astronauts carrying wounds of their own. Especially Dr. Whitaker, a quiet emergency physician from Nebraska who makes Robby want things he thought he'd buried long ago.
As launch day approaches, old superstitions, old grief, and the fear of surviving another disaster threatens to pull Robby apart.
Because the last time he let himself love a crew, they never came home.
