From the get-go, Atsushi and Akutagawa had decided to keep their relationship. Seeing as their respective organizations were once again squabbling, there was no telling how bad they'd react upon finding out their members had been seeing each other.
But things never do usually go their way do they?
Due to a series of mishaps, Atsushi and Akutagawa have to hide in the closet, but as Murphy's law would dictate, anything that can go wrong will go wrong; that seems about right seeing as the pair then find themselves toppling out right in the middle of a tense meeting between the ADA and Port Mafia.

But when his ears picked up on the sound of bubbles and someone choking under water, he realised lady luck seemed to have something against him today that she was teaming up with lady gaslight.
So, he slowly turned around, his eyebrows twitching at the sight of Dazai's floating legs in the river.
This has to be fake.
Dazai was supposed to be dead.
OR
Atsushi time travels somehow and ends up where he and Dazai first met. The only problem being, he doesn’t believe it’s real and wants the ‘illusion’ to break so he can go back and save the only couple of people left behind in the war.
He doesn’t want to lose the ones that are luckily alive.

A river flowing, just waiting for him to take the leap. Take off his shoes and step inside, let the current take him. There was nothing else he could do. He lost control over his own body. He knows he cannot do a single thing to change the fact that the sun and moon are cycling without caring that he couldn’t experience them like he used to. They weren’t waiting for him, why should he make everyone else wait?
Atsushi spends his time watching. It’s all he can do to pass the time. The only thing he’s capable of achieving anymore. He can’t do anything to stop. Stop himself from slowly sinking further. Stop the way his own deteriorating has slowly decayed the lives of those around him.
He’s ever so still in the current dragging him away.
Or, Atsushi is hit by an ability that forces him to have an out of body experience, unable to wake himself up. He is stuck watching his friends continue on with their lives.

“Are you okay?” Iruka asked, reaching out but Naruto saw him and took a few steps back. There was fear in Naruto’s blue eyes. It wasn’t a fear that he saw something scary, as most children possessed, but a fear that reached deep into his core. “I…” the blonde hesitated and suddenly lost his courage to speak. His lips sealed themselves shut, his jaw trembled and his teeth chattered. “I…just…” he said and didn’t know how to ask for help. He felt his body convulse a bit, barely able to hold it together.
Iruka sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, “if you’re not going to say it then go home.”
Naruto lowered his head, “s’rry again,” he mumbled and Iruka closed the door on him, making the boy turn and walk again, holding his arms around his stomach.
One particular wave of pain was so bad it sent the boy to his knees, before he could scream, he bit his left arm and curled inward, covering his body. A small puff of smoke appeared out of nowhere and Naruto’s henge was disabled. The boy blinked slowly as tears came down, and he hesitated in moving, feeling the cause of his pain.
The boy straightened up, revealing his months-long secret: his pregnancy.
