An ad in the newspaper—it’s a rental. For some reason this guy thinks Hiei is a potential tenant. It’s so absurd that he could laugh.
“Right, to see the apartment,” Hiei says. “Because of the ad.”
His smile broadens. “Let me introduce myself. My name is Kurama.”

Hiei's always been an outsider. Tattooed, homeless, and unemployable is the reject trifecta. After a chance encounter he meets Kurama, the neighborhood florist, and rents the apartment above his flower shop. He hides his tattoos out of fear of judgment, but Kurama surprises him by asking for one of his own.

Pen knew he was popular with the ladies, well, at least back home, just ask his fanclub! But no one in Sandrock seemed to show him much interest until the new builder, Lucy, showed up. One too many drinks had the builder all over Pen one late night at the Saloon and while Pen may have blood on his hands, he at least had the decency to ensure his partners were sober enough to consent.
However, when word gets back to Matilda, it becomes clear that the best way to keep the budding builder under a watchful eye would be to have Pen forge a relationship with her. He can distract and slow down her progress, and maybe she’d even be willing to join their side, or at the very least, not have the heart to fight against her beloved in the end.
It’s not like Pen could ever fall for his enemy, right?
Chapters 8 and 12 rated (E). All others rated (M).

Summary
Worn down by a hellish 5 years in Sandrock, Wren, the builder formerly known as Lucy moved to Atara in the hopes of escaping her past.
In Atara, she can be a nobody again: not the star builder with the weight of keeping Sandrock afloat on her shoulders, not the hero who defied the might of the Duvos Empire and lived to tell the tale and most importantly, not the woman who unwittingly fell in love with Pen, the war criminal who destroyed any chance she might have had of a happy life in the town she once called home.
There’s just one major flaw in Wren’s plan for a fresh start: whether she likes it or not, she belongs to Pen and he’s not done with her, not by a longshot.
