Summary
Things… change.
Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.
…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.
Ghost goes back in time, kills the Radiance, and sets everything right. They tell no one, and do it on their own. It is only after their family is happy, and the kingdom is safe, and the Abyss is soothed to sleep, that they realize just how lonely it is as the last remaining piece of a future never to be.

Summary
Using evil to fight evil is not in itself evil. But Kyoraku was not about to place all his money on evil, in a world where the Final Getsuga Tenshou cost Ichigo his soul and life. Not when there was a chance to save a viable replacement for the Soul King.
Not that Rukia knew that. She was going to save Ichigo. If she could save him from what cost him his soul to start with…his will would do the rest.
And so was raised the sword of fate, ready to fall yet again…

Daeron sniffled. It was as easy for his heart to break as it was to mend. He nodded. "Yes, father."
"Aerion?" Maekar's eyes had not left his second son. "Do you understand?"
Aerion stared at the mottled teardrop in his hands. It took all his strength just to hold it. He could not imagine a greater loss than withholding its name, but his father was wise and loved him, so Aerion begrudgingly agreed.
"Yes."
But he could not stop it. As he walked back around the long table to his seat, the name rushed to the surface of his mind.
Rhuqes.
Aerion and Dunk hatch a dragon.
