Still reeling too much from his debatably imagined glace, Simon reaches across Grace’s space, placing his hand down in the space between Grace’s thigh and his hand. “Use your words, Grace.” One of his brows twitch, not nearly as patient as Grace is. “I hate guessing games, so spit it out.”
The nervous grin never leaves Grace’s lips and the bulb above the stove highlights the way blood rushes to his cheeks.

The blond’s hands are raised up above his head, slowly, like a trail of blood from an open wound, blue eyes set on him from the ground, footsteps cautiously making their way towards Simon’s bed ladder. Simon’s knees come to curl in towards his stomach, his arm going to wrap itself securely around his legs, only for the sensation to never reach them. A quick glance to his empty shoulder, and Simon looks towards the top of the bunk, blinking away the burning in his eyes.
Ryland is approaching him like he’s a rabid dog, and, for once, Simon wishes someone didn’t see him as one that bites.
Simon wishes that he didn’t feel like a ghost walking around in his own skin, anymore. He was so, so tired.
“I’m not an animal,” Simon huffs out, turning his face towards the other human, and Ryland vaguely notes the fact that, in the light, one of his eyes looks a deep, crimson red.
“I didn’t mean to-”
“I know. Nobody ever does.”

He sticks the pen he’s holding uselessly over a blank piece of paper between his teeth and lightly chews on it, staring at the paper in front of him. The original plan was to brainstorm ways he could catch Rocky off guard, shake him up a bit, and make him regret all those times he called Grace his plaything by using him instead. But he doubts that writing IDEAS FOR DOMMING ROCKY at the top would go over well with Rocky if he found it, and he absolutely would find it some way or another.
