Summary
Sometimes the darkness she crossed an ocean and a continent to escape sneaks between the cracks and threatens to drag Blake down. Sometimes she feels like she’s speaking in a different language, or walks on a slightly different plane of existence from the people around her. Ilia says Blake is doing ok— but if she is, why is it so hard for her to talk to the beautiful girl who comes into the coffee shop? And why can’t she find a model for her final thesis portfolio?
Yang clings fiercely to her public image, even the not-so-flattering parts of it. She does her best to ignore her sister and Pyrrha, who tell her that she deserves something more than just living day to day. The accident that marked the end of her old life and the start of the new left painful scars on her body and her heart. Maybe life is better if it’s simple.
She’s about to find out that being friends (or something more) with a strange, cute barista is about as far from simple as she can get.When you get down to it, we all have our faults. It’s what you do with them that people remember.

Blake discovers the magic of creating new traditions.
Yang learns how beautiful it can be to see the familiar through the eyes of someone you love.~This fic is a thoroughly self-indulgent plunge into a slightly Beehaw AU that I have been working on. It takes place after the main fic, after Blake has moved in with Yang on her little farm in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Yang is a farrier (a person who trims hooves, and smiths and fits horseshoes), and she specializes in training for Natural Horsemanship. Blake is a professional equestrienne (dressage and eventing), who writes for equestrian magazines and blogs to make ends meet.~

Two: They had been brought in as caregivers of sorts, meant to take responsibility for some weird, slimy tentacle monsters with shapeshifting and inhuman fighting abilities.
Three: This was not a joke and no, they were not allowed to back out, since they had signed a contract in which “animal handling” was listed under “expected duties”.As if this shit compared to a K9.

Summary

That is until he is deployed with the 141 and comes face to face with a dangerously familiar couple, which seems to have him in their scope since the very first day. Trying to navigate the flirty advances by a Scottish sergeant, he falls for them, all while trying to reconcile the lieutenants gestures of care with his intimidating gazes.
This whole mess would be so much easier to solve, if there wasn’t the looming threat of a ticking clock, counting down the days of his deployment…
