    Hell, it had been so long since she’d given any thought to the future that she’d nearly forgotten. But she’d needed help with her homework, had gone to Light, only to find his door locked- and just like that, everything had come flooding back to her.

    Things get even more complicated when he's taken in by a man named Jason Todd, who Atsushi's fairly sure is in some sort of gang. Or possibly running one?

    Surrounded by Birds and Bats and farther away from home then he can truly comprehend, will Atsushi be able to survive the hellhole that is Gotham and its eccentric night-time residents?

    After dying at the hands of Ryuk, Light Yagami woke up the day before he received the Death Note. Looking at his past actions, he decided to destroy the notebook. Yet, he failed to do so and a new Kira rises to punish criminals, just as he had once before. In order to stop them and all others who would walk the same path, he investigates these serial murders. He takes in an alias, Y, and joins in the cat-and-mouse game of L and Kira, acting perfectly in the middle.

    For L, Y is the variable most unknown to him in the Kira case. That is a stretch, he must admit, considering he is dealing with a supernatural serial killer, but he would rather that all mysteries of this case be solved, including someone with knowledge impossible to receive. Someone who sometimes helps with his investigation and, other times, works against him. Someone who he knows is Y but lacks the evidence he needs. Just who exactly are you, Light Yagami?

    “It’s okay, Ryuzaki. We found you, we’re getting you out of here.” The voice pauses. “I’m so sorry it took us this long. I...” An inhale. “Hold still, I’ll take that off.”

    Beast swings its leg up blindly in the direction of the voice. It doesn’t hit anything, but there’s an answering yelp. Someone farther away shouts something.

    “He’s probably confused,” the voice inside its cell says. “It’s okay, Ryuzaki. It’s me, Light. I’m here to help you.”

    Beast growls.
