Summary
Junior year.
Max is dating Esme. Abby is being extremely normal about it.
Abby drinks vodka at school sometimes. Draws things she won’t explain. Max writes a play about it, sort of. Esme holds everyone together until she starts coming apart too, which would be easier for Abby to ignore if she hadn’t started caring.
In the art room, Marcus, Ginny, and Esme run a zine club for things nobody says out loud. Obviously, everyone handles this with grace.
If you want Abby’s leg taping, body image, avoidance, and Max’s fear of being abandoned treated seriously: this fic goes there.
If OCs or poly fic usually aren’t your thing: Esme will hook you, then fall apart too.
Rotating POV: Max, Esme, Abby. Max/Esme, Abby/Max, Abby/Esme. Poly endgame. Slow-burn sapphic. Mind the tags.

Portrait of Max, Esme & Abby by QueerlyMaxedOut
Fandom Ginny & Georgia (TV), Original Work
27 Jun 2026
Summary
A queer, literary, character-driven universe about love, identity, and becoming.
At the center: Max Baker, Esme Delorme, and Abby Littman.
Esme arrives in a small Massachusetts town from Paris after a betrayal she can’t outrun. Max’s messy, loyal heart is more dangerous than she realizes. Abby draws because paper is the only place she can tell the truth.
The main arc begins with Max and Esme, but it is Abby’s story too. By Book 2, all three are central, and the endgame is Max/Abby/Esme. They’re messy, funny, obsessive, and trying very hard not to ruin each other’s lives. Mostly.
A story about wanting, staying, surviving, and choosing.

Summary
How the inherited trauma that is glossed over, passed down, and unresolved create the monsters in the twins' lives later.
Fair warning: The first two chapters are more Ellen centered and slower, chapter 3 and so on will be more twin centered!

Summary
He lets out a humourless laugh, head springing back up. ‘Don’t therapise me, kid. I hate that shit.’
‘I’m not—Jesus, Marcus. I’m here! I’m trying to talk to you. What the fuck has all your therapy been for if you think having a conversation deeper than the range of a teaspoon is me trying to therapise you?’
Or: Ginny once told Marcus she didn’t want to be like her parents. It turns out some things really are just in her blood.

Summary
On the summer between sophomore and junior year, Maxine Baker discovered some things about herself:
1. she thought about people way more than they ever thought about her
2. she and Marcus weren’t so different after all
3. people do drift apart, and watching Abby drift felt a little bit like dyingBookmarked by QueerlyMaxedOut
