Most people didn't realize alphas could suffer a drop, much less encounter one who had. It happened rarely, and almost exclusively to alphas who lost their pack traumatically when they were pups. They clung too hard to the people they loved.

Summary
"Anakin had no idea where he was or why he was there. How could he possibly deserve to be in this position, free as he almost was, but not dying, alive? Anakin thought to himself if this was real, he didn’t know what he would need to do, what the Force wanted from him, for it had clearly sent him wherever here was. In the face of the unknown, Anakin couldn’t help but think to himself, I want to go home."
As Anakin/Vader is dying in Luke's arms, he feels a light from the force and wakes up on Mortis, when the Son was showing Anakin his future. But instead of simply showing Anakin the future, the future was brought to Anakin. And now, only recently returned to the Light, Anakin will need to find the strength and determination to change his future, and the future of the galaxy.
