"If Todd skipped out on too many family meals, Grayson would be marching over to one of his safe houses and dragging him to the manor. If Brown or Cain was gone on a mission for too long, the family would make time for them to relax and Pennyworth would make their favorite meals to entice them to dinner. If Damian was too far into his head and feeling frustrated they would give him enough space that he didn't feel coddled but also open that door for him and eventually force him out of his own head.
But Drake... He hadn't come to family dinner for three months now, Todd never made it to the two month mark. Drake hasn't come back to the manor after a mission for anything longer than a sitrep and debrief. (Of which Drake consistently lied about and avoided medical attention every night and not once did anyone call him on it). Tim had heard rumors of someone selling a tire from the batmobile, THE BATMOBILE, around Crime Alley. He had to check it out, obviously. He already had a few items he'd been collecting from following Batman and Robin in patrol, but having a real tire from the real Batmobile would certainly take his collection to the next level. He needed to check if it was real.

Pulling his legs to his chest, Tim slammed his fist onto the keyboard angrily, stifling a sob as tears flooded his eyes. Why wasn’t this working? Why was nothing working today? Tim gasped for air as he hugged his legs, trying earnestly not to break down and cry. He wasn’t a kid, for fuck’s sake. He was a Drake at that. Drakes didn’t cry.
“Baby Bird?”
In his emotional turmoil, Tim had somehow not heard Jason ride into the Cave on his bike. Useless. Why couldn’t he do better? He was supposed to be Robin!
For a second, he tried to tell Jason to go away. To leave him alone just like everybody else had in his life. Instead of that, a loud sob escaped his treacherous mouth. Not even his mouth liked him…
