In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. The death toll is currently 135, with the number expected to rise as evacuations continue. Refugees are going as far north as Vault City and as far east as New Vegas, and President Kimball has issued a state of emergency. The Kings and the Followers are handing out blankets and Rad-X to survivors who came to Freeside, while the Queen of the Mojave has pledged to help any refugees who cross the border, much to the ire of the Omertas and the nearby Great Khans tribe. And now, the weather..."

A contradictory mess of cynicism and idealism, Arcade just wants to help people. Courier Six seems to be his answer to properly helping the people of the Mojave Wasteland; an odd but charming delivery boy with his own set of problems, most of which stem from two bullet holes to the head.
POV Arcade during the events of Fallout: New Vegas. Explores the physical/mental effects of the Courier's brain injury, including seizures, headaches and retrograde memory loss. Very slow burn, lots of world-building and references to other games in the series (especially Fallout 2). Deals with mature themes present in the game/series overall, but chapters with heavy subject matter will be marked accordingly.
Gay people cannot just ask each other out, especially not in the Wasteland.

When a coincidental reunion (coincidental, as though V1 breaking V2’s window was anything but purposeful when an e-mail or a text or even a call would have sufficed, the details were right there!) has them now being roommates for the foreseeable future, V2 now has to live with someone they hadn’t seen in years. V1 hadn’t exactly been their best friend before, and they don’t know how that’s going to affect this whole… roommates thing.
It’s only for a year.
V2 can survive a year.

It’s been fifteen years since Gordon put away the game for good. He packed up his life in New Mexico, moved up the country and got a real, fresh start in life, new job, new friends, the works- all was well. He doesn’t think about the people he left inside a video game after promising he’d get them out. It was just too painful, and at one point, it felt like it became too late to go back. He eventually forgot about the box that he stored the VR headset away in all those years ago, collecting dust and waiting for him to return.
Well, maybe he can’t entirely forget it, but he’s done a damn good job of ignoring it.
At least, until Joshua finds it.
