Xie Lian had been a guest in Ghost City for some time now. The city’s lord, for whatever reason, had been either kind of curious enough to take Xie Lian into the notorious Paradise Manor, even when the god couldn’t do much more than sigh deeply and rest his head on his arms. He didn’t know what the man intended, but with an entire room presented to Xie Lian—as well as a personal attendant who seemed adamant on helping Xie Lian gain back his sense of self—he was certain the ghost had some kind of plan.

Summary
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng meet several centuries prior to Xie lians third ascension. Hua Cheng, having found his beloved, has spent more time at paradise manor or scrap collecting with his husband and less time burning down temples. The lull in activity from Crimson Rain Sought Flower has made heaven highly suspicious that Hua Cheng is planning something truly nefarious - especially as rumors of a new powerful figure in ghost city “the granduncle” begin to emerge. Heaven sends their best and brightest to investigate ghost city - the generals Nan Yang and Xuan Zhen.

After running into Xie Lian, Feng Xin no longer has any interest in their original mission “How did you end up in ghost city?”
“It’s a long story” Xie Lian deflects
“We have time” Feng Xin encourages
“We really don’t” Mu Qing interjects.
Xie Lian sighs “Well, I moved to ghost city because this is where San Lang lives.” Feng Xin just looks at him in confusion “San Lang is?”
“Umm” Xie Lian takes a deep breath “He’s my husband.” Both Feng Xin and Mu Qing are struck dumb for several moments. “Your what!?”

Summary
Some time ago, Xie Lian was (almost certainly) cursed to take the form of a kitten. Defenseless and just as unlucky as he was in his mortal body, he ends up kidnapped by a group of ghosts looking for a good gift to give their Chengzhu for his upcoming birthday. After all, who wouldn’t want a cat that seemingly can’t die?

Summary
Truthfully it was only luck that Xie Lian happened to overhear the king of Yong'An talking about some youth formally requesting permission to excavate the ancient ruins that were once the Xianle Royal Cultivation Pavilion. Fortunately, he is suddenly available to take over this matter personally, much to the surprise and joy of the person submitting the request.
