Summary
“You cannot simply depart, Dame Belcher. We need you for the tally, we must signify your status of nobility, we—“
“I should think not,” came her terse reply, tugging her arm from the prince's grip and loosening her hold on her hilt. “I need not do—“
“In fact you must or else you may not continue on in the competition.”
Louise turned to give him her full attention. “That is not a rule that has been enforced in the last decade.” Her words dripped in venom. And for a moment she thought she may have pushed him over the edge, this hoity toity prince.
But he just smiled wider. “And I shall be the monarch that does.”
Her blood boiled. “See here, your royal highness,” she hissed his title as if it were the most vulgar slur. “I will compete in that competition. Arbitrary rules be damned.”

Summary
"Mate, I'd carry you if I could," Greg told him, offering Alex his arm to hold onto as they slowly made their way together to the sofa. "But I'm fairly certain that'd end up with both of us on the floor, and I don't think there's anyone here strong enough to lift me."
Alex hummed in what might have been agreement. "Might be fun to see them try, though," he said as he sank down onto the sofa. "Actually there could be a task in that—"
Greg aimed a half-hearted cuff at him. "Please do not turn the idea of levering my bloated corpse off the floor into a task," he groaned, plopping down next to Alex.
