How the man could say that with a straight face was beyond Tobirama. Nevertheless, there wasn’t a lot of wiggle room around the issue. Either Tobirama agreed to fulfill his duties, or the treaty and peace was off. Tobirama wasn’t sure what the Uchiha spousal duties were, but based on some information available to him and the fact that the clan had the most powerful dojutsu, it was obvious that he would be expected to produce children with the Sharingan. Or in Tobirama’s case, he would have to consent to his husband taking a wife later on who would bear full blooded Uchiha children with the Sharingan. It was an easy enough concession to make for peace.
“I can.” Tobirama agreed, and his fate was sealed.

In one of the larger gaps above his face, the view of the surface overhead is completely obscured by a narrowed, blood red eye. As Tobirama fixes his gaze on it with all the focus he can muster, it curves into an unnerving crescent as if the person to whom it belongs is smiling down at him. A cold shiver ripples along his spine.
“This seems like it’s quite the predicament, hm? Can’t imagine how cut up you must be if the water around here smells this good.” The voice is a deep, low, husky thing, its tone teasing for all that the words are practically a threat. At that moment, there is no doubt in Tobirama’s mind that the mer speaking to him is something dangerous, something predatory. His throat clicks around a thick swallow, and suddenly drowning doesn't seem all that bad.

It was, he maintains, entirely Tobirama’s fault that he was distracted enough to give away their hiding place and that the mission ran overtime by two days. Since then, it’s been continuous - a hundred proposals, constant prodding, weeks of listening to Tobirama list every possible reason to trap him in a genjutsu and…compel him into sex. The most grating argument he keeps bringing up is the baseless, stupid idea that Madara is deficient in the full use of his own kekkei genkai -
He huffs again, arms folded. It was better when Tobirama hardly spoke to him. It was infinitely easier and rather more effective to storm away from an argument when they still had separate homes and bedchambers and Tobirama had fewer hooks dug into his skin.
