It wasn't supposed to be like this.
Lily cups her face and kisses her forehead, “I love you so much Haewonnie. We’ll always have the next life. I love you.” She sounds like she’s trying not to cry. Haewon knows something is wrong, tries to say something to reassure her, but she can’t seem to find the strength to open her mouth and do something about it.
Just like that, Lily is gone and Haewon’s world fades into black.

Summary

They both stare for longer than polite. Some stupid part of Dash is expecting AJ to break up with her right then and there.

Sampaguitas, Lara realized staring at the little jasmine petals in her hands. Sophia’s favorite flowers.
She stares at Yoonchae in horror, and the younger girl avoids her eyes.
“How long?” she asks gently, her eyes glued to the Korean who still had blood on her chin from the coughing fit. “How long?”
Yoonchae doesn’t look at her, can’t. She looks small like this, even if she’s taller than Lara. “A long time,” is all she can say, her voice hoarse from coughing.
OR, in which, Lara realizes Yoonchae has Hanahaki disease because she's been in love with Sophia for years, and more than that, knows that she must convince her to take the surgery before it's too late.
