Summary
Steve nods toward El, drawing the kid’s attention there. “That’s El, my sister. If you take a look at her wrist, you’ll see a number there. Eleven.” The kid’s eyes widen at that. “Mine too. I have one, just like you.”
He pushes his sleeve up, unlatches the watch. There’s a special product he’s supposed to use to take the concealer off, but after so many days, it’s flaking anyway. It’s not hard to drag his nails over the fake coloring until the ugly black markings underneath pop up. He angles his wrist, giving the kid a clear shot. He hears his breath catch. Steve’s had too, when he’d read the kid’s number and put two and two together.
“I have one just like you,” he repeats. Dustin lets the kid raise his own wrist, pressing it close to Steve’s. The two three-digit figures sit there, next to each other, mirroring their twin. Steve sucks in a breath. “You feel things that you shouldn’t, that aren’t yours. None of the scientists know it, but you can change them too. You’re stronger than anyone else can tell. Do you know how I know that?”
Little Number Seven nods and whispers, “‘Cause you’re me.”
or, Steve is from the lab. His child self shows up in his living room. This is a problem.

Summary
Like most July days in Indiana, the day of Steve Harrington's funeral dawned hot and muggy. His parents had flown home to organize the ceremony, and they stood outside the church to receive condolences from funeral attendees, dabbing at their tears with designer handkerchiefs. Steve hadn't attended this church for anything except the Christmas services his parents dragged him to since he got his first hangover. “He had so much potential,” Mr. Harrington said, over and over again, and the line of mourners murmured, “We'll all miss him,” “So sorry for your loss,” “He was such a close friend, can't imagine life without him.” The grass was a healthy green, the sky a bright blue, the cicadas chirped happily, and the coffin was empty.
From the trees along the edge of the cemetery, Steve and Robin watched with a beat-up pair of binoculars they had stolen from Dustin.

Summary
People are saying that when it rains, if you look into your television at midnight, you'll see your soulmate.
Steve Harrington is pretty sure that's just cootie-catcher nonsense. But something is definitely going on. Everyone is seeing the same people in the television—and the people they see keep turning up dead.
