Jason rolled his eyes. "You really gotta get better at this whole tough-talk thing, kid." He snorted then. "Who knows? Maybe I'll even add it to the curriculum if you ask real nice."
"I am quite sure I could get lessons from any common Gotham goon if I wished to speak like you."
" 'S that so?" he inquired lazily. «I'd love to know which of your common Gotham goons speaks like this.»
After a training session with the Baby Bat takes an unexpected turn, Jason finds himself reluctantly pulled back down memory lane to revisit one of the most important cases of his (first) life.

Stay out of it, you idiot. Just stay the f##k out of it, another part of his brain warned him in protest. This was not his problem, and wanting to help the kid out with his training didn't mean Jason was gonna sign on for all the touchy-feely s##t, too. Not like the brat would've wanted it anyways; he was smarter than that, at least.
Let Dick deal with it.
In the aftermath of Tale Spin, Jason, Dick, and Damian begin feeling out their new way forward. The problem is…they're still a stabby assassin kid, an angsty crime lord, and a people-pleaser extraordinaire who's too committed a performer for his own good (or anyone else's).
Truth be told, the road to "Happily ever after" is starting to look like a minefield in disguise.…

“What’s wrong with you? Seriously, you’re being a jerk. You never want to hang out with me anymore unless it’s to tell me what to do.”
“Because you’re acting reckless,” Dick says, which is rich, considering Jason hasn’t left the Manor in three whole weeks. Where was all this brotherly concern before he died? “You’re always sunburned, and you keep forgetting your shades, and you don’t drink enough—”
“I drink as much as I want,” Jason says hotly, which is true; it’s just never enough. He thinks he could guzzle gallons of refrigerated, artificially-anticoagulated blood and his stomach would still feel hollow. What he really wants is warm, and living, and real, and—and he shudders with revulsion, biting the inside of his cheek.
“It’s not enough,” Dick insists. “Your eyes are still red.”
“Yeah, well,” Jason spits, “whose fault is that?”
Jason copes with the indignities of being a fledgling vampire.

Congested sniffles, if you will. Just wonderful. Someone had broken into his apartment and wasn't even trying to hide it. He carefully turned the corner, but immediately relaxed when the living room came into view.
"Jason?"
On his couch, holding a box of tissues, was Jason Todd.

A robin sits on a branch, watching his blush take flight. It is not his fault that he is now flightless in nature. Someone has clipped the flight feathers on his wings to prevent him flying for fear of him falling. The fall would not kill him, he thinks. But he clings to the branch and ruffles his feathers against the cold, hunkering down and preparing for the long night.
(A fic in which Jason’s anxiety from Gotham War is taken seriously, and the aftermath that follows. There are consequences for Bruce’s actions.)
