“Purp’s, heh.. Hey…” Red chirps, making direct eye contact. Which was strange, for Red, who usually adverted their eyes away from Purple. Purple never really knew why Red did that.
Purple turns their head back to look at the crowd of people again, but they adjust and wrap an arm around Red’s back. “Hey, Red.” Purple spoke softly.
Red shuffles to get more comfortable against Purple. “Heey… Heh, Purp’s, you’re really.. You’re… Mmm…” Red searches for the words, their gaze flicking back and forth on the side profile of Purple. “You’re a good security person, ya’know…” Red rolls onto their side, moving to get up-close and personal with Purple. “Really good.”
Purple cocks their eyebrow and uses two fingers to push Red’s face back. “Thank you, Red.” Red whines, but lets Purple’s gentle touch guide their face back. “You’re a good captain.” Purple doesn’t truly think Red is a good captain, in fact, Red is quite a shitty captain, but Purple wouldn’t want to break Red’s fragile—currently drunk—heart.
AKA: Red is stupidly drunk, and just as stupidly bold.

Avery & Derek, but it's Spiderman and his man in the chair.
Avery had a fine day until a random spider bit his hand, with weird green and yellow patterns on a black body. Derek insisted he'd be fine and whatnot, quickly rushing him to the bathroom while stifling his laughter that only elicited a whine from Avery as the two stood there, running the bite under water, and Derek had placed some ointment and a bandaid over the small wound, promising he'd come over tomorrow night to check on him, just to make sure it wasn't venomous.
Everything afterwards had been completely fine.
But then he woke up, well, today, and it had seemed normal for the most part, but while waiting for Derek to come around, he didn't expect a fucking cobweb to shoot out of his wrist.
Which takes him to now— being stuck to his bedroom ceiling.
"Holy shit..."

Well, Avery didn't expect this.
A spider bite had swollen up on his hand, and then the ability to climb walls and shoot webs out of his wrist followed shortly after.
