Joe shifted his weight to regard who process of elimination deemed must be Adam Pierson. Mid-twenties, if he was being generous; maybe younger, if he wasn’t. Lanky with thick, fluffy hair that was mussed to the exact level of expectation for an international flight and dressed in a sweater that was two sizes too large for his skinny frame. Exhaustion colored the skin underneath his hazel eyes and yet he still looked sharper than a blade as he looked Joe up and down, expectantly.
“That’s a hell of a question to ask somebody you’ve never met, kid,” Joe muttered. “You’re Pierson?”
