She'd use the opportunity to hone her skills as a detective, cut ties with her father and then graduate without ever looking back. Unfortunately that plan was thoroughly disrupted by her growing attached to her new friends.
    At least it gives her an opportunity to finally come to terms with what had happened years ago.

    Hajime couldn’t give an exact incident. There was never really an ‘inciting event’ that struck alarm bells when it came to stuff like this, but a gradual build-up of crumbs and morsels of conversation. They began to spell out a phrase in Hajime’s mind in a font that just became larger and larger.

    ‘There’s something wrong with Nagito’ – that was it, but what that ‘thing’ was still remained up for debate. At least, that’s what Hajime kept telling himself.

    Any alternative made his insides twist themselves into knots.
