Summary

It’s an obvious lie. Clearly, whatever it is that Yu is mulling over, it’s not something that he wants to share with Yosuke. And Yosuke gets it, he really does. People need their space. But it could also mean that Yu doesn’t trust Yosuke enough to share, or that he’s thinking about Yosuke himself, an idea that twists Yosuke’s stomach and makes it a little hard to breathe.
“Out with it,” Yosuke barks. He tries to reel it back in, but Yu’s eyes are wide. “I mean, I just feel like there might be something you want to say.”
OR:
Yosuke’s trying to become a better friend. Unfortunately for him, saying a bunch of homophobic things won’t make your closeted partner open up. The camping trip retold for the 1000th time. It has a happy ending, I promise.

Yosuke shoved it in his bag, then practically floated on his way to his shift at Junes. Throughout his shift he just thought about the letter and sighed with some happiness, and went on without complaining.

Yosuke’s fists slammed against the table outside of Souzai Daigaku— the steak croquettes wobbling in the process as Chie frantically dove forward to protect her own food. She stared at him with squinted eyes, annoyance and frustration seething out of her like blood from a gash. Holding her precious meat babies close to her chest, her mouth morphed into a deep scowl and gave a ‘hmph’ noise in refusal to answer Yosuke’s question.
[ Yosuke has to face himself yet again, and this time it revolves around what sexuality is and how it impacts him. ]

Yosuke Hanamura was left wanting, but unable to act as the quiet town of Inaba drained him of his energy in its own, deafeningly loud way.
On the way home from a late shift at Junes, he throws a bone to fate, writing a wish on an ema and leaving it at the Tatsuhime Shrine. A simple prayer for something exciting to happen, and soon, before he died of boredom out in this country town where he knew next to nobody, and next to nobody wanted to know him.
It could’ve been anything, he wouldn’t have complained if it was something small like a celebrity passing through or a pop-up food stand he’d recognize from the city…
…so why was it that he woke up in a room not his own in a body that was not his?
