He most definitely wasn't expecting that someone to be Red Hood and maybe the most surprising of all... he was not expecting Red Hood to apparently know him. Well... to know the night time bird photographer Alvin Draper, anyway, but all things considered, he was willing to roll with it.

And his highly intelligent ten-year-old mind had come up with the only possible solution to his problem.
"Pretend you're my uncle," Tim said, after Nightwing entered the alley, surprising him and nearly getting hit with an escrima stick (oh shit, it looked so good!), "Or I'll tell everyone who you and Batman are."
(What do you do when your parents are in Egypt and you don't want them to know you've gotten into trouble at school? Simple: try blackmailing one of the local vigilante and hope for the best. It's a foolproof plan!)

“What was that?” She was testing him. Seeing if he had the guts to repeat himself. Richie had no reason to hold back. He sat up and met her gaze.
“I said, you didn't raise me at all. You and Dad were too busy reading the bible or some shit.” Richie would've winced if Paul wasn't right by his side. He heard him suck in a deep breath, and Richie almost felt bad for causing trouble. Almost, because it felt good to finally say it to her face.
